About Me

Hello, I’m Charity Johnstone, founder of TWC Counselling and Wellbeing.

Before training as a therapist, I spent five years managing a mental health counselling service, where I gained valuable insight into the counselling profession and the impact therapy can have on people’s lives. During that time, I was also working through my own experiences of anxiety. With the support of a trusted friend who was a therapist, I began my own journey of self-exploration and personal growth.

These experiences deepened my appreciation of how complex life can be and the importance of having a safe space to talk through difficulties during overwhelming times.

Since then, I have gained professional counselling qualifications and have supported individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, low mood, bereavement, relationship difficulties, caring responsibilities, stress, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and neurodiversity.

Alongside my professional training, my own lived experiences of faith, family dynamics, loss, and personal growth enable me to meet people with empathy, curiosity, openness, and respect. I recognise that every person’s story is unique, and I am committed to providing a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences and work towards meaningful change.
